1. Tinted Moisturizer
Using a tinted moisturizer offers a more natural and lightweight feel, making it ideal for daily wear while still providing coverage. It often includes hydrating ingredients and SPF protection, which can help keep your skin nourished and shielded from UV rays. Unlike foundation, tinted moisturizers are less likely to highlight wrinkles and clog pores, making them a great option for those with aging, sensitive, or acne-prone skin. I packed this one from Bare Minerals in the color Dune and I especially like the fact that while it’s very moisturizing, it has a matte finish.
2.Compact Mascara
A little goes a long way when it comes to mascara, so there’s no need to bring a bulky full size wand with you on your trip. This little cutie filled the bill for me and gave my puny lashes thickness and volume. Many times, when I travel, I will have my lashes done ahead of time so I don’t need a mascara. I didn’t have time before this last trip so I picked up this one and I was very pleasantly surprised. I’m using it everyday now that I’m back home.
3.Sheer Pressed Powder
Nothing sets your look for all day like a good pressed powder. Gliding a little of this on keeps everything in place and if you get one in a shade or two darker than your complexion, it acts as a bronzer as well. Because it’s sheer, it doesn’t create that “made up” look and appears very natural on the skin. I bought the color “Stay Spice” which was about two shades darker than my skin.
4.Lip Plumper and Lipstick in One
I don’t know about you, but, lip plumper has changed my life. There’s nothing that makes you feel older than the lip thinning that happens as you age. Not a big fan of needles, I’ve learned to rely on a little plumper to give my lips a little boost. Before my trip, I found this great combo from Elf that has a refreshing feeling plumper and great moisturizing color in one stick. I bought the color “Pinky Pout” because I wanted a natural look and this color worked for all of my day and nighttime looks.
5.Eye Color Wand
Most of the time, I didn’t wear an eye shadow on my trip. I brought this wand below so I had options to ramp up my look for the evening. It added the perfect sparkle and depth for an evening out while staying creamy and moisturizing. I could have possibly skipped it altogether, but, it actually made me feel a little dressier on the three evenings I wore it. (My photos turned out a little better too). I bought the color “Rustic Grotto” for a natural smokey look.
6.All Day Eyeliner
I have literally tested every eyeliner on the market. Because I wear contacts, when I travel, my eyes can get a little watery. Eyeliners have a tendency to bleed on me making me look like a mess half way through the day. I’ve learned that gel eyeliner works better than pencil when it comes to lasting. This one I bought from Almay really held up and kept a clean line all day. It comes in lots of colors. I brought plum on my trip, a natural enhancement for my green eyes, and I have a black one at home. If bleeding eyeliner is an issue for you, you’ll love this one too.
